Where have I been?

I know, it’s like I fell off the face of the earth! And I sure did miss writing on a regular basis. Well, where was I? At a regional training for my job in Pittsburgh (which I am hesitant to admit is a pretty cool city. But Go Browns!). Turns out sitting in a conference and critically analyzing all the work you’re doing is pretty tiring. I think I feel asleep on our couch at 9 last night (in my defense, driving is pretty tiring, too).

I learned so much in these past few days, and feel renewed. Sometimes, all you need is a few days away from your routine to shock you back into life. This is especially true for my job, which is really exciting, but can be draining sometimes. There’s a lot of reasons why, but they include being the only one in my office doing that job – it’s isolating! Anyway, I am actually excited to get back into the office Monday (and it’s only Saturday morning! crazy!).

Just as this conference made me feel renewed appreciation for my job, being away for a few days makes the little moments with M and at home that much more exciting. Like eating dinner together last night and just being in the same room. But we also have such a strong relationship that being away from each other wasn’t a strain – maybe it’s because we had lots of practice when I lived in Washington, D.C. and he was still in Ohio. We know how to keep in touch with one another and do our own thing.

And now we have a fun-filled weekend ahead of us. (Even though it will be one hour shorter due to Daylight Saving Time, it is totally worth it to Spring ahead!!! SO excited for warmer weather and longer days ahead.) Anyway, I’m resolved to stay in a good mood all weekend as I run a road race, and we go to a 2nd birthday party, visit family, and see the Ballet Memphis in Cleveland. (I won us free tickets!) Bring it on!
